The Yayasan initiated the setting up of Memorial Charity Fund / Personal Charity Fund to encourage individuals to do charitable work on a long term basis.Anybody who donates RM2,000 or more to the Yayasan will have a fund set up in his / her name managed by the Yayasan.The interest derived will be utilised for the Tertiary Education Grants,Study Grants to lay students of the Malaysian Buddhist Institute yearly and etc.

TERTIARY EDUCATION FUND

YBBM Tertiary Education Grant (TEG) 2024/2025

The Yayasan Belia Buddhist Malaysia (YBBM) and Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM), are jointly assisting tertiary students to pursue their studies through the "Tertiary Education Grant" Scholarship Scheme. Application is now open until 15 Dec 2024.

Over the past 39 years since 1985, YBBM has allocated more than RM 600,000 to undergraduate students through the “Personal / Memorial Charity Fund” and corporate sponsorship. YBBM welcomes more people to participate in the “Personal / Memorial Charity Fund” to assist young people in tertiary institutions.

"Tertiary Education Grant" Scholarship Scheme is intended to fund needy Buddhist undergraduates and encourage undergraduates who are actively involved in university Buddhist societies. YBBM hopes that this group of young Buddhists will continue to contribute to the work of Buddhism in the future and continue to work together to promote social activities for the benefit of the public.

Application Requirements:

1. All second year undergraduates students in local universities.
2. Active involvement in Buddhism activities will be an advantage.
3. Must achieve at least 3.0 in the latest CGPA to be eligible for the application.
4. Must have a Statement of Recommendation from varsity Buddhist Society or any Buddhist Organization.
5. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview and need to pass all evaluations to be eligible for the grant.
6. Beneficiaries must attend the Award Ceremony to receive their grant.
7. A grant amount of RM1,500 will be given to the beneficiaries.

The scheme, in existence since 1986, aims to encourage Buddhist activities organized by the university and colloge Buddhist societies.
