Introduction of Master Jicheng

Master Jicheng has been writing for more than 30 years. In recent years, he has become good at painting with calligraphy. He uses calligraphy and painting to cultivate inner self and spread the Dharma. He uses Zen to paint and then talks about Zen through painting. The Master was born in Malaysia in 1955. He became a monk under Master Zhuma in 1978. In the same year, he went to Songshan Temple in Taiwan to receive full ordination under Master Yinshun and studied Buddhism at the Research Department of Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Research Institute. In 1980, he began to practice Zen under Master Shengyan. In 1985, he received the Zen lineage from Master Shengyan according to the Zen tradition and became the first disciple of Master Shengyan to inherit the Zen lineage - the 58th generation of Linji Sect and the 4th generation disciple of Master Xuyun. He is currently the Dean of the Malaysian Buddhist Academy and the abbot of Puzhao Temple .
